Cow GPS Tracker

UniGuard has been in GPS tracking business since 2009. We start with offering stable and robust vehicle tracking devices. Now we plan to focus on livestock management with cow GPS tracker which has not got any mature or helpful product in market yet.

Real Ranch Scenario: Peace of Mind in Action

Imagine: Bessie wanders towards the highway after a storm weakens a fence line. Your phone instantly pings with an alert. You open the app and see her location moving near the boundary. Simultaneously, Bessie feels a clear warning vibration from her collar. She pauses. A reminder sound plays. She ignores it and takes another step. A brief, mild static pulse encourages her to turn around. Crisis averted. No semi-truck. No vet bill. No lost cow. Just Bessie, safely back with the herd. That’s the cow GPS tracker Cguard difference.

What problems do the ranchers have?

1 Endless searches of cattle escapes

When the animals escape from farms, ranchers have to spend a huge amount of  time, money and labor. Any GPS collar can locate animals quickly if they stay within areas covered by cell service. Without signal coverage, it is impossible to trace them down.

2 Hight cost of building fences and Repair broken fences

Traditional fencing means a large and recurring costs. Installation across large farms will lead to lots of material and labor costs. Physical fences are vulnerable: their structural integrity degrades over time and they are easily compromised by livestock impact or environment factors. Once they are broken, there will be ongoing repair and maintenance costs.

3 Compensation for damaged crop caused by escaped animals

If the cows have successfully escaped, they wander freely and often eat nearby crops. This damages neighbors’ fields. The cow owners will have to a large sum of money.

4 Lost of animals

If animals wander too far or into areas without cell service, we can’t locate them through GPS trackers. Losing livestock means significant financial losses.

What Cow GPS tracker is in market for selling now?

There are livestock GPS trackers in market already, which are basically an asset GPS tracker with collar. We do not think it can actually solve the problems mentioned above while doing large-scale livestock operations.

1 Big battery cow tracking device

Big animals like cow and cattle can handle much heavier trackers than small pets. Plus, they live out in wide-open pastures, far from easy charging spots. Tiny batteries would need constant recharging – not practical out there. That’s why cow GPS collars usually come with big batteries, ranging from 12,000mAh all the way up to 30,000mAh.

2 Solar powered cow GPS collar

There are solar powered GPS trackers in market. However, they have a problem: solar panels just don’t charge efficiently enough. They can’t keep up with how much power the tracker uses. Plus, cows avoid direct sun – they’d rather stand in the shade or in water or even in mud. That means the solar panel rarely gets enough sun light to be able to charge the GPS tracking device.

3 GPS cow ear tags

“When ranchers ask about GPS trackers, their first question is “Do you make GPS ear tags?’” Here’s the reality: true live-GPS ear tags don’t really exist. Why? Because live GPS tracking drains batteries fast, and ear tags are just too small to hold the needed power. You’d be charging them daily or every other day – imagine plugging in hundreds of tags everyday to get them charged!

That’s why most ear tags on the market use LoRa technology instead. LoRa uses way less battery, so tags last months or years. But trade-off: they don’t give real-time GPS and cannot be tracked if the animals travelled too far above 15KM away. Building a network using LoRa technology is not cheap as well.

4 Lora GPS collar

Lora Tracking devices are good for low power consumption but bad for live tracking specially over long distances. Lora technology is composed of Lora tag, Gateway, Data collection and delivery unit. Compared to GPS GSM/LTE tracking system, the deployment of Lora GPS collar costs higher and more complex. Plus, its working range is limited, you will need install many base stations if you manage a wide-open pastures. However, Lora technology can be used as a add-on for areas without GSM/LTE coverage.

What revolutionary livestock GPS tracker do UniGuard Supply?

1 Precision Real-Time GPS tracking

Monitor every single animal in your herd-instantly. Our cloud tracking system and smart phone APP display animal’s location on Google map.

2 Set Safe Zones

Through the web tracking software, farmers can draw safe fences on the Google map. The fences can be customized per the actual needs in any shapes.

3 Grazing insights

Review historic movement patterns to optimize pasture rotation and herds health.

4 Smart boundary correction

This is where the Cguard truly revolutionizes herd management. Program virtual fences directly on the Google map around hazards like roads, crops, or weak fence lines. Here is how it works:

  1. Gradual warnings: When a cow approaches a boundary, the collar emits a warning vibration and audible cue.
  2. Gentle correction: If the animal ignores the warnings and continues forward, it receives a mild, adjustable static pulse (similar to touching an electric fence).
  3. Instant learning: Cattle quickly learn to associate the warning cues with the boundary, turning back before the static pulse is needed. It is high effective, low-stress training.

UniGuard Cguard Animal Tracking Device Features

  • Industry-grade durability: rugged, waterproof, dustproof – built to withstand the toughest conditions
  • Long-lasting power. With 20,000mah backup battery, the device can last upto 6 months on a single charge (depending on live tracking interval and electric stimulus times)
  • Simple and powerful tracking applications. Farmers can track and manage their herds either by computer or phone.
  • Adjustable correction levels: Fully customizable vibration, sound and static pulse intensity for ethical and effective training.
  • Herd management: easily monitor groups, set individual alerts, and manage all your livestock GPS tracker in one place.

Why Ranchers are Switching to the Cguard Cow GPS Tracker?
